Personality
Starlingfeather is young, and as a young cat she has her very playful side. She’s in-love with her Clan and shows a great amount of loyalty to her Clanmates. She’d do anything to protect others and put her life on the line for her leader, and she has a huge soft spot for kits, even though she admits she doesn’t want any mates or kits. The reason for her keeping her “maiden nature,” so to speak, is so that she can keep all distractions away from her and her duties. Starlingfeather is loyal and protective, as well as organized and fierce. Amongst her enemies she can show a defensive side towards any offending of her Clan, her leader, and herself. She’s cunning and sly, using a great amount of teasing and trickery. Starlingfeather is also a multitasker, and because of her busy mind it’s hard to get her attention sometimes, but in the end she’ll always come around. While she may still be a rookie, she’s well-trained and skilled in both political and war-waging ways. She’s also easily offended, but usual dismisses it with teasing.
To prove her role, Starlingfeather is rather mature for her age, it could be because she was under the apprenticeship of the Clan leader, however. Constantly, she strives for the better of her Clan and keeps an open mind for those around her. Though, she is a newly appointed deputy, so it’s easy for her to slip up and she often goes to the senior warriors and her leader for advice. She’s always eager to learn, as long as it isn’t anything too complicated like medicine. StarClan knows she doesn’t have the patience for medicine. That’s also a division of her personality that she lacks.
Her patience is well when she’s doing something she likes, but otherwise she has a very short patience. She can’t sit still for the longest times, nor can she stand to be enclosed in small spaces. This is why she is often found wondering around the camp, even though she knows all the secret spots due to her wide exploration as a kit. Starlingfeather tries as hard as she can to put herself in one of the patrols at least once a day, generally taking the moonhigh patrols when the camp has calmed after a busy day. It’s also because she admires the night. It’s mysterious beauty and the lights above her encourage her to stay up and watch. Though, she tries to not do that as much after discovering that sleeping in isn’t quite in favor for a new deputy.
Starlingfeather is a young deputy still learning the ropes, but she often has her moments of caring, protecting, being loyal, and being quite wise. Though, that last one is a little less often than the others.

Appearance
Starlingfeather is a just slightly smaller than the average sized cat. Her fur is thin, feathery, and medium length with a black main-pelt and white under-markings that cover her legs and her paws, not counting the slight smudges of black here and there, her chest, most of her face, excluding a black smudge on her nose, and her underbelly. You could say this kitty is in tuxedo fashion. Despite her fluff, it’s visible that Starlingfeather is lithe with a long body and tail, and a body built for stealth and cunning. Green irises give color to this black and white cat, adding to her slightly sneaky personality that comes with her abilities. Overall, this kitty’s appearance makes it easy for her to blend in with both the night and the day.
History
It all starting with a little, black and white kit. Starlingfeather, as a young kit, was very open to the world. As much as she loved to play fight with her littermates, she often spent her time exploring the camp and finding the good spots to hide when she’s stalking a sibling. Her young days were always so fun and she always admired listening to the stories the elders told, or watching the apprentices train and talking with the warriors about their recent patrols and hunts. As long as things were exciting, her life was happy. She was one of the first in her litter to ask, “Can we please go outside, Mama?” with a very elongated “please” as though she were asking it thousands of times before. When her father would stop by the nursery, she’d always try to get others into following a plan to pounce him. This usually ended up with only one other kit or just herself attacking her father in a war cry of, “On your quarters, rogue scum!” or some other intruder such as a badger or a fox. Starlingfeather was quite the energetic fluff ball.
During her apprenticeship under her Clan leader, of which she took a huge honor and advantage of, Starlingfeather often ran in and out of camp, training by herself, and asking several times, “So, what are we gonna do today, huh? Any battle training?” Indeed, Starlingfeather was intrigued with battle as much as any other apprentice in ShadowClan. It was clear to others how she grew from an energetic fluff ball to a loyal, sometimes sneaky she-cat in her apprentice ship. Her attitude change from always determined to jump in and fight to a strategic mind that thought out her plans while waiting. Her reward for a good day of training and progress was often a round of sparing, in which her took advantage of greatly to show of moves she discovered in her independent training. She loved hunting as much as fighting, and found herself often in the forest. Though, among her apprenticeship, sickness hit the forest and in the event, Starlingfeather lost of her mother. Grief-stricken and depressed, Starlingfeather almost gave up on her apprenticeship. However, she kept telling herself that she would regret it if she didn’t strive harder. So she trained harder until she became a warrior with the name Starlingfeather at eleven moons.
Her life carried on as it did in her warrior days. Starlingfeather did her duties and found time to make her life decisions. She had fallen in love with a tom once, but after an accident on patrol, she found it best not to affiliate herself with mates so she wouldn’t be distracted. She never really wanted to talk about the incident, and busied herself with other things to avoid falling again. Nothing special happened in her warrior days. Starlingfeather still held close to her leader, and in time she became the mentor of Hawkpaw, an apprentice already trained by another mentor who was in critical care due to a fox fight. She was Hawkpaw’s mentor for three moons until she decided the tom was ready to be a warrior and consulted his original mentor often until he became a warrior under her name. She couldn’t help but feel so proud despite being a temp mentor.
Finally, at twenty-five moons, Starlingfeather was appointed the deputy position. It wasn’t exactly the role she strived for, but she accepted it greatly and, even though she’s rusty, she’s been adapting to the busy life of a deputy

Family
Mother:
Cherrycloud- a fragile, white pelted queen with amber eyes. Her nose was a vibrant pink as well as her paw pads and insides of her ears. She’s a natural queen, born with a huge soft spot for kits which was obviously passed down to Starlingfeather. Cherrycloud died in Starlingfeather’s late apprenticeship due to sickness.
Father:
Badgerfang- a strong and brute tom with a pelt not too different from Starlingfeather’s, though the length of it is considerably shorter, and his eyes are virtually the same color as her own. Badgerfang has a strong and muscled build, different compared to Starlingfeather’s lithe and long body. He’s a fighter and is well known in the Clan for his skills. Badgerfang still lives to this day.
Siblings:
Magpiefoot (Sister)- A she-cat that takes after her father with a smaller and more lithe build. Her eyes also resemble the same amber as her mother’s. Magpiefoot is known for her speedy techniques in both hunting and fighting.
Fognose (Brother)- A grey tom who’s build is very much like his father’s, as well as his green eyes, only a bit fluffier. Fognose is an excellent hunter and a decent warrior.

Role Play Sample
(All characters in this RP Sample are NPCs. There are no official characters in this Sample other than my character, Starlingfeather. Thank you.)
A white tipped tail curled over fluffy paws as Starlingfeather settled her rear down on the earth below. The young deputy sighed and looked down, her mind astray for a moment, lost in the many things she had organized for the day. /Let’s see…/ She thought to herself. /It’ll be smart to have Magpiefoot lead the dawn border patrol, and then Cloudstorm could take up sunhigh. Maybe./ The she-cat always wanted these things planned out ahead of time, and of course she would lead the patrols at moonhigh, it was one of the times she enjoyed going out of camp for. Starlingfeather’s mind didn’t stray too far off her goals, and she quickly got back to her correct mindset. /Of course I want Fognose and Rowanwhisker to take up the hunting patrols. I suppose they can take their apprentices, too. It’ll give them some real-life experience. Mousefang can go on the border patrol with Cloudstorm…/ Whilst her mind was reeling on and on about organizing these patrols and then informing the warriors afterword, a certain brown-pelted tom stalked behind her.
“Boo!” The young warrior yowled at his deputy and, startled, Starlingfeather flinched and whirled around defensively, though she was cautious not attack. A young, snarky, brown tabby sat infront of her with that familiar smirk. It was Hawkflight, the tom whom she had trained for three months. Hawkflight snickered at his former temp mentor. “Gotchya’, didn’t I?” He asked in his usual arrogant tone.
Though she didn’t mean it in a rude way, Starlingfeather rolled her eyes at the warrior and scowled. Though, she held a grin on her maw while scolding the tom. “Hawkflight, you’re not an apprentice anymore! Shouldn’t you be doing something other than pestering your seniors?” She teased and nudged him. Hawkflight looked at her defensively, but chuckled all the same.
“That’s why I’m here, Deputy! What’s the plan today?” He asked and rose to his paws, shaking off his tight and short pelt. It was clear he wasn’t quite taking care of his pelt due to all the flakes that shook off it. /Eww,/ Starlingfeather thought playfully. Though her playful thoughts melted away into a serious tone as she meowed directions to the willing warrior.
“I was planning on having you take the dawn border patrol with Magpiefoot, as well as the hunting patrol at sunhigh with Rowanwhisker taking the lead. You mind letting them know that if you happen to find them before I do?” The she-cat inquired. “Oh,” She remembered. “Tell Rowanwhisker he’s free to take Thistlepaw with him, and if you see Fognose or Cloudstorm, send them my way, please?”
Hawkflight grinned and turned, swiping at his deputy with a swing of his tail. Starlingfeather dodged the swipe and chuckled. “Yes, ma’am.” The tabby meowed before running off elsewhere in the camp. Starlingfeather just shook her head and rolled her eyes. /Great, that’s half of my work done. I still need to find out who to take on the moonhigh patrol. Oh, StarClan…/
(I noticed…this is a bit like me just writing an excerpt of a one-shot, short-story. If you need me to change it, please do tell! I also decided to move to TC Deputy because I think both her personality and skill set fit better. Please discard my former application in SC. Thank you!)
