THUNDERCLAN - MEDICINE CAT
USER:CANBEEZY
Behind the Name
Yellowtail obtained the name yellowkit based on the sandy colored base of her tail. Her mother thought it stood out the most amongst her dappled coat. The basis for "tail" is because as she became a warrior, she was known for incredible sense of balance to her warrior duties, being able to master the way of the claw very quickly.
Personality
Yellowtail is known as an ambitious and fierce feline within in the clan. Previously trained as a warrior, she prided herself on mastering the ways of the claw, and has no problem being on the front lines defending her clan. The same can be said of her with the way of the herb. Though no longer on the battlefront, she uses the same passion and drive to purge away illness as if it were an enemy clan. Though her role has changed within the clan, it will take her to tell you, "I'm no so different than before, just slightly....modified".
Appearance
Yellowtail is a
dappled she cat, her colors a mixture of a deep chestnut brown and a
cream white base. She is of a larger build due with extremely powerful
hind legs that give her incredible balance.

History
Yellowkit was always a
rambunctious kit, always wanting to prove her skills at a young age.
She wanted nothing more to be a warrior, and be the best there was. She tended to come off as a bit headstrong, sometimes being bossy toward the other kits. She admired the strong warriors and apprentices, one in particular was Applepaw. The other kits grew tired of her bossy nature and began distancing themselves from her, excluding her from their games. Though
she shoved it aside as them being weaklings, overtime the lack of companionship began to weigh on her. She found herself all alone, with bitterness beginning to settle in her heart. Thankfully before that seed could be planted, one particular apprentice would show her a little bit of kindness, a trait yet to be learned by the ambitious kit. They soon began to play together, and quickly a friendshiped blossomed that would last far beyond her kithood.
As time passed, Yellowpaw began showing great promise as an upcoming warrior. Excelling in her training, she would often brag about her skills, which in turn made her fellow apprentices shun her. Yet Applepaw, now Applestripe, would quickly come to her aid. Making such remarks that all of them should strive to be the best they can be, just like Yellowpaw.
This only made the hidden feelings she had for him soar. Her goal was not only to be the
best warrior, but to win the best of the lot. Though Yellowpaw was never good at expressing her feelings. She would often find herself teasing Applestripe and joking around, though he didn't seem to mind. For a while that suited her just fine, at least she showed some interest in
her. Or so she thought. The time came and Yellowpaw became Yellowtail.
She was so excited! She could go on patrols, defend her clan, all along side Applestripe. A moon or so after going on patrols and hunting together, others began to notice her closeness to him, often teasing her about it. Though she would brush it off, often threatening to pound them if they didn't knock it off.Though she couldn't help but smile as the others noticed the connection she had with him. Perhaps soon he would notice it too? Not soon after, a battle went underway with Thunderclan and Riverclan, once again fighting over Sunning Rocks. This time Thunderclan had one! She was so excited! Her first battle, and she was successful. She got a few cuts here and there, but that didn't phase her at all. She quickly rushed to find Applestripe, though what she found made her whole world shatter. She found the tom she secretly cared for curled up with Clovertail, her licking his wounds, and he returning the favor. At first she tried to shake it off, thinking to herself it could just be a fellow warrior helping another. But as they walked away, their tails were laced together, it seemed as if even their steps where in line. She couldn't believe it, how could she have not seen it? Though a victory was one on the field, she lost the battle of the heart, and went home tail drooping
and spirit shattered. After that she couldn't focus on her duties, all she could think about was Applestripe and his new mate, how she wish it was her, though she couldn't be. She soon began to distance herself from him, along with everyone else, she started becoming cold toward him.
Maybe it was better this way, if she couldn't be his friend, then maybe she would be able to move on. Applestripe started to take notice an confronted her, demanding to explain her cold demeanor. Not soon after they had a huge argument, Applestripe claiming that he didn't understand who
this Yellowtail was, that she was a stranger, an enemy to him this way and that he hated the way she has become. This sent her over the edge, for the first time in her life, her emotions came flooding from her. She apologized for her cruelness towards him and the others, though never admitting her feelings for him. She wished him a happy life with Clovertail, scurrying away before he could say
anything, tears streaming behind her. She began to run, so far until she was clear away from camp. She started to reflect over her life and where she had gone wrong. Perhaps she had loved too much, was it possible? Before she knew it she found herself at this cave, far beyond her clans territory. She found herself drawn to it, going inside to see the bright light that emitted from a huge stone. She found herself at peace for that moment, and rested at the rock. She began to dream, and found herself in a strange place, where all the seasons existed with each other at the same time. Suddenly a small stripped she-cat appeared, with dark green eyes. It was Mothstripe, one of the firsts medicine cat of Thunderclan, along side her was Mintfur, the current medicine cat. They questioned how she got there, and she told them that the light had lead her, that it brought her some peace to her aching heart. The other two cats conversed, Mothstripe nodding her head in conformation. Mintfur was skeptical at first, but who could argue with Starclan? Mintfur asked would Yellowtail consider becoming her apprentice, which meant giving up the life of a warrior. At once Yellowtail became furious, stating that she could never leave behind what she had worked so hard for. Mintfur was about to interject, until Mothstripe stepped in, recalling the events of Yellowtail's life. She asked her a serious question, was it for the sake of the clan that she worked so hard, for was it really for one cat in particular. She found herself flustered and couldn't answer. She knew the answer, and it pained her even more to admit it was true. Mothstripe explained that same tenacity she had in becoming a warrior, she could use as a medicine cat. Sickness would be her enemy, and she could purge it from this earth, just like any warrior. The proposition started to appeal to her, though Applestripe was in the back of her mind. Mothstripe could tell what she was thinking and left her with one final
question before disappearing. "Was he really yours to begin with?" With that she woke up from her slumber, finding herself at the base of the stone, alone. She thought about Mothstripe's words, and silently cried to herself. She was right, how could she be angry over something she never had, that she was never destined to have. Just then she heard a rustling behind her, quickly jumping to her feet. She relaxed a bit finding that it was Mintfur, coming to settle beside the young warrior. They sat in silence for a while, staring up at the great stone. Mintfur had asked her once again, would she be willing to give up the life of the claw, for the life of the herb. She gave a sly smirk and nodded, simply replying, "Why not, It won't be that much different. Just as Mothstripe said, sickness is my enemy, and I must purge it from the earth. So I'm not so different, just slightly modified. With that Yellowtail became Mintfurs apprentice, and the rest is history.

Role Play Sample
"Yellowtail, will he be-"
"Shush", she snapped quietly, quickly cutting off the warriors words, her sole attention on the erratic breathing of the young apprentice before her. The warrior nodded, clamping their jaws shut, obeying Yellowtail's orders. There was no arguing with her, in her den, her word was law. The medicine cat emitted a low rumbling purr, flicking her tail across the young apprentices flank in an attempt to sooth him. "Just relax Badgerpaw, it will be over soon", she would mew softly, turning quickly and padding into the darkness of her den. A moment later the she cat returned, yellow petals tightly clamped in her jaw, her tail encased in cobwebs. Eyes narrowing toward the warrior, as to give her room to work, Yellowtails emerald gaze softened at the apprentice. The medicine cat would chew the yellow leaves of the Marigold until it became a fine paste. Before she would apply the mixture to the apprentices wound, she scooped up a pawful of cobnuts, crushing the smooth nut into smaller pieces. Yellowtail quickly flicked her tail, dabbing the cobwebs against Badgerpaw's wound to soak up the bleeding, paying little attention to the young apprentices wail of pain. She spat the paste of Marigold into her paw, adding the crushed nuts to the mixture, hoping to increase the healing properties of the herb. "Sssh, it won't be long now", she mewed, pressing the ointment she made into his wound firmly. "You there", she would beckon the warrior, pointing with her tail to a small white flower in a crevasse of the den. "Give that to Badgerpaw, it's Chamomile, it should calm him down, and ease his mind. That should give me enough time to find some Oak leaves, we don't want an infection settling in his wound", she would grunt as she began padding out the den.
"But Yellowtail!", the warrior would call out to her in a trouble voice, causing the medicine cat to stop. "Yes, Badgerpaw will be fine, he's a little shaken up, but a few day's rest will do him good", she would state sharply before exiting the den. "Don't worry", she would mew as gently as she could, quickly exiting the den. The warrior would give a wayward smile, giving a brief nod before focusing back on their apprentice. "That Yellowtail, she's as sharp a claw, but I know she means well", the warrior would laugh quietly too themselves, staring out toward's the entrance where the medicine cat once was.
(I wanted to focus more on her doing medicine cat duties than trying to describe the surroundings and what not, I hope that's ok ^.^)
