Thrushstorm pawed the large, burnt tree in front of his vision. Some splinters rained down. "I was only an apprentice when it happened..." His tail went up to his back and it touched the scar next to his spine. "We both recovered from that day, thank goodness. I don't think I could live with the guilt of killing him." He turned to see a lone crow hanging out on the branches. Thrushstorm clawed his way up, stealthily, and grabbed it by the wing as it tried to take off. He bit it's neck an sat down in the tree. There's enough food at the camp. And besides, I just finished a day of work and I am starving. He finished it, and left a feather in the knothole. He remembered his brother and himself always storing little trinkets there to secretly exchange. Thrushstorm smiled. "Yep, being an apprentice was fun, although I could never wait to become a Warrior."
Thrushstorm turned his head. There were no cats in sight. Maybe I should go to Carrionplace...? He shook his head. "I dno't want to loose what precious food I just gained." He twitched his tail and climbed back onto the tree. he curled up. I'll just take a short nap. I can go back home later to see what (insert name here)star wants me to do next.

Owlberry padded through the underbrush, heading to the area around the Burnt Sycamore to grab some coltsfoot, seeing as he had been running out. As he got closer he could see the distinct yellow pedals of the herb. Grinning he quickened his pace slightly until he reached the plant, and picked a few of the leaves off the plant with his mouth; making sure not to grab too many, in case he needed them again.
When he looked up he saw a shape in the branches, a cat. They didn't smell of any other clan, or of anyone outside the clans so Owlberry knew that they must be one of his clanmates. Narrowing his eyes he stalked forward, getting close enough to make out who it was.
"Thrushstorm!" He called, when ne noticed that his clanmate didn't notice him, "What are you doing up there? Don't you have duties to be performing?"

((Don't worry, I'm here! Just a few issues and one day there was a thunderstorm warning,))
Thrushstorm jumped, startled, as he heard Owlberry's questioning mew. He felt his pelt get hot, even though Owlberry was only the medicine cat, not the leader. He jumped off of the tree. "I was just taking a quick break..." He noticed the coltsfoot in his mouth. "Do you need any help gathering herbs? It's a shame you don't have an apprentice yet, but I'd be happy to help." How hard could it be to gather herbs anyway? The medicine cat would be with him, so he wouldn't grab anything like nightshade.
A chill in the air blew through Thrushstorm's pelt and he gave a shiver. "We better collect a good amount of herbs before Leaf Bare sets in." Thrushstorm joked. He couldn't tell what the medicine cat was thinking, but Thrushstorm shrugged. "I wonder what apprentice would be best..."
Thrushstorm closed his eyes. It was akward talking to other cats. Even if they were Shadowclan. The only cat it felt fun to talk to was Aspenfur, but she was in Riverclan. He was in Shadowclan. Friendships like that couldn't work, but the next gathering would be a nice place to talk. He looked at Owlberry again, and at the herbs at the base of the tree.

"Napping in a tree qualifies as a quick break now? It seems someone forgot to tell me about that bit of information" He purred, a bit of irritation making its way into his tone, "Thank you for your offer Thrushstorm, but I've gotten what I've come out here for. I just needed a bit of coltsfoot, and now I have some." Owlberry tried to keep his voice pleasant, though being pushed into taking on an apprentice wasn't something he enjoyed. And unfortunately this wasn't the first time it had happened. He took a breath to shove his frustration down.
"I think it's quite a bit too early to be taking on an apprentice, seeing as I only became a full fledged medicine cat not to long ago myself." He justified, then added somewhat teasingly, "also, if you haven't forgotten, Willowsky is still quite alive," The medicine cat took a few steps toward the warrior, but froze when he caught a familiar scent on the tom's breath as he exhaled.
"Thrushstorm, is that fresh kill I smell on your breath?" Owlberry asked, his tone more serious now.

Thrushstorm nodded slowly as Owlberry explained about how he didn't need a medicine cat apprentice, but he could smell irritation on him...and...annoyance? Hate? Thrushstorm blinked. He wasn't too fond of the medicine cat in this mood, but he didn't think he was being annoying. Maybe it was just his imagination. He knew that hate was a strong emotion, and a bit of embarrasment was prickling his own pelt, and embarassment wasn't good for scenting emotions. It had been a long day. But just because he had pointed something out was no reason to become irritated. And of course he knew that Willowsky was alive, but she was getting old. And a medicine cat apprentice wouldn't be the most awful idea in existance, for Starclan's sake.
Owlberry suddenly stepped closer. "Is that fresh kill I smell on your breath?" He mewed. He was more serious now.
"Yes... I had earlier stocked the fresh kill pile, and after the boarder patrol I was starving, and the crow was sitting in the tree." He closed his eyes and smiled, although nervous. "I know it seems as if I broke a rule, but I really did stock the camp before patrols! I don't know if it's gone now though, come to think of it..."

Owlberry saw annoyance flow off of the tom's features. He had obviously said something to irritate Thrushstorm but, he wasn't sure what. His confusion was forgotten upon hearing the warrior's defense story about the fresh-kill he had eaten.
"It's funny that your evidence for your story might not be there" The medicine cat trailed off slightly at the end of his sentence; pausing for a moment before continuing, "Why don't we head back to camp to see if Blackstep has anything else for you to do" He would bring up the tom's disregard for the warrior code to the deputy when they got back to the camp. Of course Owlberry knew he had the power to deal out a punishment himself, but he had a feeling that the warrior would ignore it, seeing as he has seemed to forget the authority a medicine cat has in a clan. But, If the problem continued he would have to take some action to set Thrushstorm straight.

Thrushstorm huffed. It was as if everyone was ignoring him lately. He probably shouldn't mention going to Fourtrees, although that technically wasn't wrong. It seemed as if everyone was pointing out his bad instead of his good... That especially irritated him. He knew he had good, but his bad sometimes oughtweighed it, but that was a strong sometimes. Owlberry said to go back to the clan and talk with Blackstep about doing something else, but Thrushstorm knew it was to get punished. He apprentiated that Owlberry didn't want to do it himself, but he might have preferred the medicine cat over the deputy. Yeesh. It wasn't as if he was meeting up with a she-cat and having a forbidden relationship. The very thought set his fur on edge. How could he ever love a non-Shadowclan cat?
Thrushstorm sighed, but headed toward the camp. At the moment, eating a small crow hadn't seemed bad, especially since he had just finished patrols and hunting. Of course, anyone who wasn't him didn't know that, and would take that the wrong way. I guess what's happened happened and that I should just move on. It was a gift really, being able to brush things off. That made him kinder that he had thought he would be. Thrushstorm shook his head. I'm going off again. I should focus and head back to camp with Owlberry.

BlackStep sat in the middle of camp, his mind spinning with all the stuff he had to get done. Out of the corner of the raven toms eye, the ShadowClan deputy spotted the medicine cat and Thrushstorm walk through the entrance. Padding over, he sat down nodding to both of them in greeting.
"OwlBerry. I'm hoping that you got the herbs you needed?" he smiled. "Did Thrushstorm help you?"
Then the tom frowned. The medicine cat was irritated in a way, so was Thrushstorm.
"Everything alright?" he asked turning serious.

Thrushstorm looked at the Shadowclan deputy. He was serious. It probably wasn't the best time to tell him what happened. But what had to be done had to be done, and all Thrushstorm could do was to suck it up and accept that he was guilty and carry out his punishment in a formal manner. He should be thankfull that it wasn't Auburnstar that he was getting told on to. She was touchy lately, but then again who wasn't? all Shadowclan cats excpected the best out of each other, and Thrushstorm had stooped to a record low.
"It might be better if Owlberry explained it to you..." Thrushstorm mumbled, loud enough for just the three to hear. He didn't like getting more attention that what was worth, and this scat deserved to be just between the three of them. And Auburnstar if necesarry, but he hoped it didn't need to go that far. If he had commited a crime like falling in love with a cat outside of Shadowclan... He shivered on the inside. Auburnstar would get very, very angry. If she deemed apropriate, he might even get banished. Hopefully, no one in Shadowclan would get banished. Even though he longed for the deputy position, no one deserved to leave, least of all the deputy. Blackstep was level-headed anyway, and he would only do something like that if his life depended on it, or some other equally dire situation.
Thrushstorm looked to Owlberry. Maybe he would want to explain the situation...
