It had occurred to Aspenfur early that morning that she'd never shown Minnowpaw the exact borders of Riverclan. They'd been hunting, of course, in the river, where the Thunderclan scent was strongest, but she wasn't sure if she'd actually established the borders there. And every kit knew the gorge protected them from Windclan, but still, it was neglectful of her to ignore showing Minnowpaw the territory.
So she had woken her apprentice unStarclanly early, dragged out of her warm nest, and brought out here. In the rain. Which really shouldn't bother Aspenfur as much as it did. Most Riverclan cats didn't mind the rain, probably because being in the water was more fun than imaginable. But Aspenfur didn't like how uneven, how cold it made her. It was a lot easier than swimming. Which reminded her, that was something else she had to teach Minnowpaw.
Currently, the two cats were headed towards the river, at the very back of their territory, so they could travel up it. She hoped the rain wouldn't put Minnowpaw off, but then again, the rude awakening and rushed exit from the camp was probably the most off putting thing about the whole day.
