Owlberry slithered through the Mothermouth; memory leading him to the moonstone in spite of the darkness. Once he reached his destination he stopped and gazed into the moonlight that descended from the hole in the top of the cave. His eyes followed the stream until they fell upon the moonstone. He always felt like an apprentice again whenever he was here, the stone always left him with a sense of awe and wonder.
He treaded forward and walked along the stone's base before finding a spot to rest. He sat for a moment; a wave of momentary nervousness flowing through him. Worried that Starclan may tell him of something bad coming to his clan, or all the clans. The Shadowclan cat took a deep breath, forcing his anxiousness out of his body, and lied down. Pressing his nose to the stone, he closed his eyes and waited for sleep to take him and the dream to fill his mind.

It wasn't that she slept in Starclan. She was very much alert and very much awake as she trotted in Silverpelt. It was colder among the stars and she felt less up here. Like anything she touched, she wasn't touching. It felt like she was stepping on moss all the time.
But as the moon hid, and let Silverpelt glow bright in the night sky, Sootflower became real again. She inhabited her body, the lights of the stars glowing on her pelt and finally, as she padded through the forest she felt full, felt more. Her paws could feel the pine needles under her feet, the marshy land she'd tread when she still breathed, familiar and warm beneath them. The wind brushed her fur, pushing and tugging like she belonged among the forest again and she nearly shone outward with her happiness, her contentedness to be here.
She had a purpose here again, not that she'd lost hers. But it was harder to remember it when she was so far away. Her clan needed her, the new medicine cat was intriguing. They had not know each other in life, but she found his patience and kindness an asset the clan could always use.
Sootflower waited patiently by the Burnt Sycamore, pacing quietly under the tree, enjoying the way her muscles flexed. Owlberry would find her soon enough, but for now, just scenting the pines around her was enough.

Owlberry lifted his nose to the air. The scent of fresh pine needles filled his nostrils. The sun shone down on his pelt, making his fur warm, but not hot and uncomfortable. This is how he knew he was dreaming. It was leaf-fall in the clan territories, a chill would have been breezing through his fur not this pleasant glow.
Knowing he was here for a reason he began to track down who was here to talk to him. He padded through the pines, scenting and gazing through the gaps between trees and branches.
He smelled her before he saw her. The she-cat's scent was familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. She smelled of Shadowclan, of home, but he knows he has never met this cat. Her individual scent was not one he was familiar with. The Shadowclan cat was not one he had shared tongues with in his dreams before.
"Hello" he mewed as a question and a greeting all at once, coming to a stop just before her.

Sootflower padded gently towards the earthly warrior, his presence heavier than her own. That was the mystics of meeting in the inbetween forest. She was not entirely here, made of air and light, and he was entirely too much hear, made of earth and trees. She touched her nose gently to his ear, letting it flick reflexively away from her.
She was fond of Owlberry. In her watching, she'd paid great attention to the tom and his growth. She often felt that her own apprentice Willowsky was too much for the clan, too hard headed and stubborn. She bent when she was supposed to, but Owlberry was different. His patience and kindness matched Sootflower's and she was pleased that he could join her. That she had been assigned, chosen really, to help him through the dangerous times that would lie ahead.
"Welcome, Owlberry." She greeted him, stepping back a few paces to sit at the base of the sycamore. She could not hear her feet crunch against the pine needles. "My name is Sootflower. I am here to be your constant messager, your strongest link to Starclan. There will be others who speak to you, but I will be the most frequent. It is a pleasure to finally meet you face to face."
