Ribbon stretched in the sun, rolling her spine back and opening her mouth in a wide sharp yawn. The day dawned brisk and clear, a strong breeze wafting through her flap. She shook her back legs out and stood from her absolutely fabulous basket because honestly, her furlackers spoiled her with it. Even Baxter had told her that her basket was the best. Sometimes, she even had to share with him, although she didn't mind because as winter was coming she was starting to get colder alone by herself and Baxter's huge body always made her feel warm again.
Speaking of big, her attention shifted towards outside where she could see the wind blowing the trees beyond her fence. She wondered if Fox would come out to play with her again. She wanted to meet his kittens today, because she knew they were going to be absolutely adorable and she'd already decided that she liked kittens so it wasn't going to be a problem. She glanced around for Baxter wondering if he's like to see the babies too, but realized that he barely liked to see and it would be silly to waste his time and risk a bath just to ask a silly question. Fox would never try to give her a bath. At least, she hoped not. Ribbon had a feeling she was cleaner than him anyway.
She trotted out of her furlacker's house, through the garden. She had a little trouble scrabbling up the fence because it was slippery and the wind kept tugging at her fur with was really pretty and her bow kept catching and choking her a little and boy, would she be glad to get down. She leaped, stumbled, tripped, and popped back up, glancing around to see if Alex saw. She didn't and that made Ribbon purr.
She padded into the forest, not even bothering to find a scent because it'd been three days since Fox had dropped her off and she couldn't remember exactly what he'd said about going into the forest but she was sure he'd be around to remind her. She tried to retrace their steps from memory but again, she figured he would find her. Not a worry.

Hailcrow lunged forward snatching the vole he had set his sights on with his fangs, snapping it's neck and efficiently killing it. He buried it, so he could come back to it later. He continued his search through the forest for fresh kill when he caught wind of a scent; one that wasn't one of his clanmates. Curious, he followed it, wanting to know who was in his territory. As he got closer he made out the undertones of the twoleg place.
What is a kittypet doing in Thunderclan territory? he wondered.
It didn't take long for Hailcrow to the find intruding kittypet; pausing when he saw the cream colored cat through the trees before trotting steadily towards the unfamiliar cat.
"What do you think you're doing in Thunderclan territory" he hissed. His fur on his back stood up as his tail puffed up. Logically he knew that this kittypet couldn't be much of a threat but that didn't quell the reaction to defend his territory from intruders that had been engraved into his mind during his training as an apprentice. He stared the she-cat down, waiting for her to answer or for her to run.

This time when the fearsome warrior emerged from the trees, Ribbon barely flinched. Okay, well, she flinched a lot because it was scary the way all the wild cats could move without being heard and they just appeared like Baxter did right before she rolled in the dirt, but that wasn't the point, because this time, she only flinched and didn't yowl, crying, panic, or bristle and that was an improvement if she did say so herself.
She raised her tail in greeting, the ribbon on her neck shimmering as the shadows of the trees danced over it. She trotted towards the wild cat, who's grey tail was puffed like her's yesterday and she just had to ask, "Are you scared?"
It would be fun to think that she could intimidate others and she puffed herself up, broadening her chest and really straightening her legs, nearly standing on tip toe as she tried to make herself as big as Fox. He was so good at leering over people, but she wasn't tall enough to leer, so maybe she could just meet his eye level and call it quits. She quickly wondered if this cat was the same cannibals that Fox was not, then decided that was silly because he didn't even look the least bit hungry. She did wonder when Fox was going to show up and help her chase off this grey cat, since he obviously wasn't as nice or gentlemanly as Fox.

"Am I Sca- Of course i'm not scared!" Hailcrow huffed. "Why would I ever be scared of a Kittypet?" he emphasized the last word, his tone making it sound like an insult.
He watched curiously as the she-cat tried to make herself look as large as possible. Did she really think that she could intimidate him? She looked like she would barely be an apprentice, if she were a clan cat, what did she think she could do to him?
Hailcrow found himself becoming intrigued by this kittypet. She didn't seem scared of him, of course she had jumped when he approached her, but that had been more out of surprise than actual fear. And that made him wonder if she had had a run in with a clan cat before. Which wouldn't be too surprising, she wouldn't have been the only kittypet to venture out beyond their twoleg dens into the forest. But, most of the cats who did were scared away by whoever they ran in to during their endeavor. He wondered who she could have possibly run into that wouldn't have scared her off.
"What are you even doing here?"

Ribbon deflated when the grey cat admitted he wasn't scared of her. It would have been so much fun to be the scary one. Imagine how proud Fox would be when she told him that she'd scared away a feral cat. He would take her to meet his kits and all five of them would love her and they all be a family and Fox would see how not bad it was being with the furlackers and he would finally take the responsible route and get them their own furlackers. Maybe hers would let them all stay with her, but she didn't think so because it was already Baxter and her and she didn't think they wanted many more. But the house next to them was open and they could stay there.
She snapped back to attention when the big grey cat asked her what she was even doing her. Well, that was rude because it wasn't like she needed a reason to enjoy the forest. She felt a quiver of fear shake down her spine but ignored it because Fox would be along soon. Maybe if she raised her voice he would come quicker.
"I'm looking for Fox." She announced happily, tail flicking. "Do you know him? Are you one of his kits? You're awfully old. I don't know if the furlackers will want you if you're not cute."
