Personality
Rather than being friendly to everyone and earning popularity among the entire clan, Turtletail forms lasting, nearly unbreakable bonds with a select few. The loyalty she has to those friends is absolutely astounding and surpasses the devotion she holds for her clan. She has also been known to forge friendships across the borders. She can never put a name to why, but if an individual catches her attention and seems like a worthy friend, she’ll begin to treat them like one, regardless of their allegiances. Unlike most, if Turtletail is forced to choose between saving her leader and saving a friend from another clan, Turtletail will likely choose to help her friend.
She recognizes that choosing exile over harming an enemy she is close with is a mindset discouraged by the clans. It is because she realizes it that she tries to avoid having to choose between friends and her clan. The easiest way to do so is to put up a shell. To those that haven’t spent enough time trying to make her shed that shell, all Turtletail seems to be is a prickly she-cat that finds fault in everyone. Yes, she is overly critical and very sharp-tongued. But underneath that front, she is a very playful and affectionate feline. The majority of the time, she reveals her affection through flirting. When surrounded by some toms she is close friends with, Turtletail appears almost overly affectionate. The mates and admirers of those toms tend to dislike her and usually face the brunt of her aggression whenever they accuse her of trying to steal the attention away from them. It is often comical to see toms that do not know her well flirting with her and being surprised when what they receive is scorn and ridicule rather than the teasing adoration her friends are offered.
This cat is very independent and faces challenges with a hands-on (paws-on?) attitude. If she or her clanmates are worrying over something, Turtletail will most likely do her best to solve the problem immediately and without consulting anyone else. She tends to be rash and impulsive. With a habit of running head-first into danger without even pausing to think about the consequences, it seems to everyone like that best thing for her would be to find someone to look after her and rein in her anger. Turtletail is naturally suspicious of everyone and their motives, so it is hard to deceive or manipulate her. She has a tongue of silver and seems able to talk her way out of any situation. The downside of this is that she has turned words into her main way of expressing and defending herself. She never knows when to bite her tongue and is rarely at a loss for words. Her personality not only makes up for her small size; it makes her seem several times larger than those around her.

Appearance
Turtletail’s stature is very petite. With a small, delicate body, she is clearly built for speed and finesse rather than strength or intimidation. She wins her battles by using her agility and speed to avoid the strikes of her opponent until they are exhausted to the point of which she can beat them with a quick succession of lashes. Her build cannot sustain large amounts of damage and she can be easily beaten if her opponent manages to deliver several hard, heavy blows. Dainty, deft paws can turn a simple battle move into a beautiful, graceful movement; but that doesn’t mean she’d best an opponent if she performed it. Turtletail is toned and very thin, though she lacks the large, rounded muscles some she-cats have and the prey rounded bellies others do. Short legs also make it difficult to keep an opponent at bay, but Turtletail manages. It is during daily life that her leg length bothers her.
Her pelt, though sleek like that of all her clanmates, is rather long. It tends to tangle and requires daily grooming. Even when it has been groomed well, it occasionally weighs her down in the water. Thanks to her slight form, she is still able to swim well and stay afloat. The dilute tortoiseshell’s pelt is a mixture of greys and various shades of cream. In some places, the cream is dark enough to appear brown. The cream on her face is close to the color of a light golden orange. The shades of grey make up the majority of her pelt and range from the pale grey of fog to the dark grey of storm clouds. Green eyes that are blue enough to be described as teal rest above her fine-boned and angular face. The planes and edges of her head are softened by the layer of fur that covers them. Large ears and ivory whiskers are features she possesses that are often overlooked. A pale pink nose and splotches of white throughout her coat are very small things, but they make the feisty she-cat fit the appearance of a delicate beauty even more.

History
With no littermates to intrude upon her lime light, Turtlekit was showered with the affection and attention of her parents. She spent her days rough housing with her mother and mimicking the actions of her father with the aspiration to be as perfect as he seemed. This led to Turtlekit developing steadfast relationships with her parents and adopting an argumentative personality akin to Acornclaw’s. Unfortunately, Acornclaw’s love of fiery debates was something Littlestream had never appreciated. She began to drift farther away from them emotionally and apologize for the actions and words of her daughter and mate rather than just the tom’s.
As an apprentice, Turtletail excelled. She learned quickly and used training as a means of working through her frustration. She operated on the idea that if she became a talented warrior, Littlestream would be able to overlook her snappy responses. And this seemed as if it would be the case, for a while. Then Turtlepaw began to get into trouble. She had a disregard for borders and had no problem befriending kittypets she should be chasing from the territory. A stern warning from both her parents and mentor was enough to keep the spirited she-cat from misbehaving any more during her apprenticeship, and she finished her training and was renamed Turtletail without incident.
By the time the clans had all gotten used to peace, the feisty feline had grown tired of behaving a certain way to please others. She no longer tiptoes around Littlestream in the hopes that the senior warrior will believe she has grown more demure. She no longer swears to stay away from her friends because they smell of forest or marsh or moor rather than the river water. As far as Turtletail is concerned, she answers to no one but StarClan. Their ancestors will judge her not for her actions, but the contents of her heart. Since the beginning of the peace, she has avoided breaking any rules. Causing trouble and making enemies will put a target on RiverClan, and Turtletail knows this. But obedience has never come easily and a life with no challenges or dangers is not one she wants to live.
