Aspenfur knew she had annoyed Sageflight, smelling the flash of irritation roll off her fur. She hadn't meant too, of course. Her mouth had always gotten further ahead than her brain and it was absolutely the cause of every problem she'd ever had. Well... not every problem, but enough of them. Thankfully, her clan was used to it by now, choosing to either laugh with her, or ignore her; either one was fine with her.
The next words from Sageflight were too earnest to ignore. The she-cat obviously didn't want to start another fight between clans and it made Aspenfur twinge a little with guilt for being unable to stop her snide comments. Sageflight yawned, and stretched, yet again proving to Aspenfur she wasn't a threat. She felt... better with the grey deputy around. There was a certain openness and reluctance to fight that Aspenfur could identify with. For all that her mouth ran, Aspenfur did not ever like to fight. How could this she-cat be bullying Tawnywing?
Speaking of, Tawnywing was oozing amusement and Aspenfur felt a mild sense of camaraderie with her, understanding they both seemed to instinctively know which buttons to push to make Sageflight loose her patience. Aspenfur had this sort of gift, using it all the time on her mother and father, and it was only Oaktail, Starclan bless him, that had built up a tolerance to it. Tawnywing sat as Sageflight finished stretching.
"It's been very peaceful between the clans as of late, and I personally would hate to have that disappear from beneath our paws. It's very nice, not having to worry. Of course it may not last long but it's good to keep it going as long as we all can, don't you agree?" Tawnywing meowed, watching Aspenfur.
She nodded, adding. "There is nothing in this world that I hate more than fighting." Then, thinking she'd revealed too much of herself and perhaps hinted on a weakness of her clan, continued. "I win all the time. There isn't anyone left to challenge me. I get bored." She flicked her eyes over to Sageflight. "And of course, there's nothing in my territory that you could possibly want. We get very few rabbits over here, and you don't really know how to fish. "
