Behind the Name
MINNOW; for her small stature and silver-gray pelt
PAW; for her rank as an apprentice
Personality
Perhaps her most well-known and notorious trait is her headstrong nature, which she gained from her mother. With and iron will and a touch of recklessness, there is nothing that Minnowpaw will let stand in her way when she wants something. But rather than a direct confrontation, the she-cat opts for the more sneaky route- a little lie here, an exaggeration there. She's got a devious side, and she gets away with what she can, but overall she's not a bad cat.
Minnowpaw has an adventurous side as well- the apprentice loves nothing more than exploring new places and meeting others. She's loud and playful, even with strangers, and teases to show her affection for her friends. For some she may be a bit much, as Minnowpaw tends to be a rough-and-tumble kind of cat, without the elegant features that most other she-cats possess.
But under that rough exterior, Minnowpaw is actually a pretty sensitive soul. She takes everything others say to her to heart, despite her best efforts to let it roll off her shoulders. The she-cat will take off when upset, determined to never let anyone see her sad, and lash out with a sharp tongue if anyone bothers to follow her. For Minnowpaw, it's a sign of weakness, and that's the last thing she wants anyone to know.
It's rumored that Minnowpaw got into so much trouble as a kit because she loved the attention- and they wouldn't be too far from the truth. She loves both the attention and the action. After all, boring days are, well, boring.

Appearance
Minnowpaw is small in terms of both height and length, but with strong muscles built for swimming. She's not as slender as a WindClan cat, but she's far from the bulkiest either. The fur covering her body is sleek and short, lying close to her body.
Her pelt itself is a light silver color from the tips of her ears to the end of her tail. A dark gray tabby color covers her face and rings her neck, back, legs and tail. It is darkest on her tail and upper legs; her paws and stomach are light gray.
Her face has sharp features, from her dark pink nose to the curve of her jaw. On the other hand, her ears are rounded and her eyes are soft, with a warm hazel color.

History
Stripetail was a pretty but frail she-cat, Stonefoot was a cold and burly tom. The two were slow to become mates: it started out as awkward acquaintances, then as gradual friends, finally as mates. Eventually the couple began to discuss having kits, despite being much older than the average first-time parents. Many suggested against it, including the medicine cat- it was feared that the sickly Stripetail wouldn't survive the kitting. But Stripetail wouldn't be pushed around by the will of others. She wanted kits, and she was going to have them.
Several moons later, Stripetail bore a single, tiny kit. She named her only daughter Minnowkit, for her silver fur and small size. Minnowkit was Stripetail's whole world; for Stonefoot, she was a disappointment. The warrior wanted strong toms, not a she-cat that (he anticipated) would be as weak as her mother. He began drifting away from the two of them- first he stopped visiting the nursery, eventually he failed to even acknowledge them at all.
Even at the early age of four moons, Minnowkit had a defiant side. If Stonefoot didn't need her, then she didn't need him, she reasoned. The kit had grown quickly in those few short moons. She was wily and independent, a known troublemaker amongst the queens. Minnowkit was often scolded for playing too roughly with the other kits in the nursery, staying out too long, or sneaking into the apprentice's den- it was always something with Minnowkit.
Ironically, the warrior who had once been her father, the tom who had wanted strong kits, died just prior to Minnowkit's apprentice ceremony. The cause of death was his falling into the gorge that marked the border between RiverClan and WindClan territory while patrolling. Minnowkit feigned remorse, mostly for the benefit of her clan mates.
Her apprentice ceremony was like any other, but it was hers, and she was proud. She was assigned her mentor. Stripetail was moved from the nursery to the elder's den- the birth just six moons before had taken its toll on the weak she-cat and she could no longer perform her usual duties. The newly named Minnowpaw was glad that her mother would be taken good care of; she deserved it.
Since then, Minnowpaw had become slightly more tame due to her studies keeping her busy. Every once in a while she'll get into trouble, but not nearly as much as she did as a kit. She became a determined apprentice, excelling at swimming and fighting, but not so much at fishing as she lacks the patience to wait.
