Behind the Name
Bracken: Because of the many ferns surrounding the camp, Goldenhawk drew inspiration for his name from them: the gold of his pelt matches dead bracken ferns.
Paw: A rank.
FUTURE WARRIOR NAME: Thorn: for a fierce ability to fight.

Personality
Brackenpaw is a very young apprentice, without a fully formed personality, because he hasn't encountered many experiences. Here's what we know:
Brackenpaw is a patient cat. He's the oldest of his litter and has inherited the role of older brother well. He's kind and tolerant and very protective. He's a stable cat and many things don't ruffle him.
However, Brackenpaw is prone hero worship. He admires the great warriors of his clan and will do just about anything they ask. He's also occasionally envious and because of it, slightly insecure about himself.

Appearance
Brackenpaw is a broad shouldered white and tabby tom. His underbelly is white as well as his muzzle chin and a dash across the bottom of his nose. He has white paws as well. His pelt is thick but short and right now, he has no scars. His eyes are a green yellow. He's a little bigger than most cats but isn't huge, just well muscled and wide.
History
As the first litter of Goldenhawk and Palewhisker, Brackenkit, Frostkit, and Mosskit grew up loved and protected. As the oldest and only tom, Brackenkit was given special attention from his father, who watched him with great pride and joy. Brackenkit quickly grew bigger than his sisters and was soon bowling them over. Neither she-kit minded as they ganged up to take out their brother. Although he often won against them, he was never too rough. He helped to show them creative new attacks when they asked and stood up for them when other kits or apprentices picked on them. Both always looked up to him immensely, and though he loved them, his real admiration were reserved for the clan warriors, who he frequently followed around, doing chores and favors for them.
The most exciting thing these three trouble makers got into was during Leaf-fall, as they were nearing their third moon. Mosskit was chasing falling leaves in the ravine when Frostkit challenged her to a game of tag. Both she-kits were quickly lost in the forest and Brackenkit, desperate to find his sisters, tried to track them. He was soon also lost. Unlike his sisters, he kept his mind long enough to find a root to wriggle under for the night. His was found after his sisters just past moon-high by his father who was both livid and impressed. All three kits were confined to the nursery for three suns.
He was just made apprentice last night to Foxfang, a warrior he'd never really thought about as Palewhisker once told him that the ginger tom was scatterbrained. However, Brackenpaw is determined to do his best to be a good apprentice. And although Goldenhawk loves her three kits very much, she's excited to be back in the warriors den.
